Anderson’s set down roots in 1954 when Paul and Ruth Anderson started a business as wholesale growers. They worked until 1972 when their son Clark purchased the business, and he initially focused on growing and distributing bedding plants. When he built the main retail store building in 1977, things began to expand; not only did Clark add pottery, furniture, gifts and a small cafe, he doubled the size of the property with several rounds of renovations. In 2005, Clark acquired more land and talked to his stepson, Jason Blanchette, about his vision for a bigger, better café. Jason, who has a passion for food and a background in the restaurant industry, joined the team, then took what Clark had started and ran with it.
